This game was disappointing - Wayne Stiles -
I would not recommend that anyone purchased the Hoyle card games because the characters in the blackjack table game had no option to speak. I would hope that the next version they come out with will at least give the option on whether or not they want the characters to speak out all the games, not just a select few! The graphics were okay, but I still feel a major letdown with my purchase of this product.

Not Vista Compatible - David S. Borm -
The Hoyle Card Games CD does not run with Vista although it is advertised to. Broderbund Support e-mailed instructions to correct the problem, but for a user only computer operator, the instructions did not work. I have an older version of this game CD which provides larger size cards than does the 2010 version which is also a drawback for me. I will take my computer to a repair facility and have them follow the correction instructions that were supplied.

I learned to play bridge on a ship returning from WWII in the Pacificbr /I enjoy playing on the computer, although sometimes it is very frustrating because of the way my partner returns my bids. I will bid 2 Hearts and he will say 3 clubs. I, having 3 clubs, will pass thinking he had a strong club suit, and he will have 1 club.

Not Much New - Major Major - Ocean Springs, MS
My first Hoyle Bridge CD was marketed in 2004. This one is dated 2006. In the two years passing, I expected a major upgrade in the animation, new player-character options, and some new character response/comments. I found very few improvements; not worth the cost of buying the newer model. Biggest improvement is the size of the players cards; they are bigger and easier to read. Also, throwing in a deck of playing cards was a bad sign; it was obviously an attempt to "add value" because the game was basically unchanged.

I picked this game up on a whim while visiting LA for only 9.99. It did come with the cards and score pad. I'm sorry I did not try to order here. I would have read the reviews and would not buy it at any price. I will echo the other reviews. Bidding is ridiculous and play is almost as bad. Do not buy!

If I'm not mistaken, TJ Cloutier holds the record for most in-the-money finishes at the WSOP tournaments. I think he also holds the record for most final tables. Although, he doesn't hold as many bracelets as Brunson, but still in my opinion, he's one of the best. I met him once at the WPT at San Jose, Ca back in 2006 and he's like 6'6". Just a little first hand info. br /The game is fun, and Cloutier has some pretty straigh forward tips for you pre-flop, and post-flop. He even shares a short guide of tips that summarize his game. br /The AI players play solid, and I have come across some cold bluffs at times. Its a pretty good game. I recommend it. br /For the price its a steal.
